Half a century ago we endured triple sessions in the August heat, pounded each other on a daily basis, and battled rugged competition weekly, all in spartan conditions. We bled green and gold.

And we had fun together, too.

Half a century later we have our memories and we have each other. We no longer flash the green and gold like we did in the day. Ours is the color that comes with age, experience, and some wisdom.

We are The Gray Eagles. Our stories are preserved here.

GRAY EAGLE RECORD HOLDERS

A handful of Gray Eagle feats remain in the program's record books.

Bill Kreger intercepted four passes in the 1970 Bridgewater State (MA) game at Memorial Field. At the time, Bill's feat was the all-time record. Today, it ranks 4th in the book. Billy intercepted seven passes that season, another record at the time. That now ranks 5th all-time.

Our defense intercepted seven passes that day, the all-time record to this day.

Bridgewater State, now a university, appeared on our schedule each of Coach D's ten years as head coach. They never beat us, losing by an accumulated score of 500-83.

The Bridgewater football record book lists their 61-0 loss to Brockport as their greatest margin of defeat.

Bridgewater, Curry College, and Maine Maritime formed the New England Football Conference in 1965. Nichols, among others, signed on in the early 70s. Bridgewater was conference champ in '66 and '69, while Curry topped their enlarged conference in '70 and '71. Curry gave us better games.
